TERMS OF Enrolment
THE FOLLOWING POLICIES APPLY TO ANY AND ALL COURSES AND/OR WORKSHOPS BY THE SCREEN ACTING ACADEMY OF CANADA INC.(SAA). WHETHER YOU ARE A STUDENT ENROLED IN OUR PART TIME CERTIFICATION PROGRAM, TAKING A LEVEL WORKSHOP, OR JUST TAKING A ONE TIME WORKSHOP, THESE POLICIES WILL BE ENFORCED IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY, POSITIVE AND OPTIMAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE.
- Lateness is an issue. It interrupts the class and brings a negative impact on the instructors. Lateness is arriving after the start time of the class. Should any student be late more than 3 times, the instructor may ask the student to discuss terms for a solution. If no solution remedies the problem on lateness, then SAA reserves the right to forward a request to discontinue and terminate the student’s enrolment without any refunds to the student, whether full or partial.
- SAA reserves the right to discontinue, suspend, cease, or expel any student from any course, workshop, class or program who is absent for more than 2 classes. SAA will permit exclusion from this policy only for medical reasons, bereavement, or emergencies. Exclusion from this policy is also possible in other cases but those matters are to be discussed and approved by instructor and/or SAA.
- SAA reserves the right to discontinue, suspend, cease, or expel a student’s enrolment and/or participation for whatever reason whatsoever, in any course, workshop, class, or program. This includes, but not limited to: if a student does not fit the requirements for a class and/or contributes negatively to the class settings, and/or causes class disruptions which may affect the safety of others, and/or places in jeopardy the integrity of our curriculum for optimal learning and enjoyment.
- SAA holds their position firm: health and safety comes first, before anything else, including our curriculum, exercises, attendance, etc. Should you feel a serious matter has come up, speak up. We will make the time to resolve and deploy solutions.
- Homework is not obligatory unless enroled in our Part-Time Screen Acting programs. Unless enroled in our Part-Time Screen Acting programs, course fees only provides in-class or online instruction. All other services: Google Classroom, Frame.io footage, etc. are complimentary at this time and by no means is SAA required to provide and/or deliver these services.
- Food or drinks are not permitted inside the classrooms/study/studio. Only water and water bottles are permitted. If you have a disability in which requires you to have food or drink, then please let your instructor know, and an appropriate accommodation will be provided.
- To avoid missing classes, students can switch sections at any time, but the student must email and notify SAA at info@yourcasting.ca . If failure to notify us, then SAA reserves the right to not allow you in the classroom or provide make-up classes.
- No student may video record, or sound record, in any classroom without express oral or written consent from the founder of SAA. Pictures may be taken and shared on social media. However, we expect our students to be courteous to their peers and make sure that those people, objects, written communications (if legible) in the photos have consented to their photo taken and consented to posting on social media / public forums. Some instructors may have the permission from the founder to allow themselves or students take video, sound, and/or pictures. However, it is strictly prohibited to share video, sound, through any social media outlet or transmitted electronically or shared to any device unless with written permission from the founder of the SAA. If you have a disability in which requires the use of recording classroom activities, then please let your instructor know, and an appropriate accommodation will be provided.
- SAA is not responsible whatsoever for lost or ‘left behind’ belongings of a student. SAA is not responsible whatsoever for any student’s valuables.
- Should any student leave behind any valuables or food, drink, water bottles and the like, SAA reserves the right to discard it.
- No wet shoes/boots are permitted passed the first carpeted entrance, inside the Frederick Ward voice studio and/or inside the Jacqueline McClintock study. In winter, please allow the instructor to show you where your boots and jackets can be stowed. Please respect this policy and bring a change of comfortable footwear.
- Background or featured background work and similar jobs (Stand in/Photo Double) are not valid whatsoever as reason for absence. Speaking roles are permitted and only paid work is encouraged.
- Course scheduling and/or curriculum is subject to change. It is the student’s responsibility to arrange their availability for the course. There are no refunds based on schedule and/or changes to curriculum.
- Please review our Refund Policy. It is the student’s responsibility to read these terms.
- By participating in any of our courses, SAA has the right to use the student’s image, voice, and name, whether in motion or static, for any use of SAA’s publicity on any platform including but not limited to SAA’s social media outlets, booklets, testimonials, and SAA’s website or those websites connected to The Screen Acting Academy such as YouTube, etc.
