DAY 1
➡️ The workshop begins with an insightful lecture by Casting Director - Dev Producer - And Career Manager Mike Migliara covering proven audition strategies, performance techniques for auditions and on-set, and career management tips. See his student success & testimonials here!
On the menu:
Migliara’s Simple Audition Checklist: Students will receive a step-by-step guide with ten practical tips for refining their audition approach.
Scene Study: Students will engage in scene analysis, discussing how to make stronger, more impactful choices that enhance their castability for speaking and lead roles.
Audition Library Insights: Students will watch & analyze professional audition techniques from Mike’s extensive audition library, watching the methods used by Canada’s Canadian Stars and pros!
Audition & Submission Strategy : Students will discover Migliara’s proven audition strategy, paired with a empowering self-management framework to boost career longevity and confidence. Questions such as should I submit for this? Should I send a 2nd take? Which take should I send… and so forth will finally be answered!
Submission & Talent Portfolio Management: A discussion on effective submission practices, including talent agent collaboration, headshots, and overall marketability. Students will learn critical questions to ask themselves before each audition (e.g., Should I tape for this role? Should I request an extension?).
DAY 2
Participants will submit a previous self-tape or self-tape a new audition using sides provided by SAA.
➡️ Then we go hands-on—watching and reviewing each audition together at our studio in supportive classroom setting. You'll gain detailed feedback from Mike, identify key strengths, and learn how to stand out in competitive casting environments.
✅Bonus: Participants will score auditions in a friendly competition — top scorers will win an exclusive SAA gift certificate!
