🎬 Dive Deep into the Heart of Self Taping & Audition Mastery with “Elevating Auditions: Audition & Self-Tape Masterclass with Casting Director Jayson Therrien!
Jayson Therrien is a true triple threat in film and television, bringing a threefold perspective to every session. As a casting director, professional actor, and producer, his approach & audition technique combines the insight of all three disciplines.
This is more than an audition workshop — it’s a complete professional development experience for actors. Jayson also shares invaluable guidance on the actor’s self-marketing journey and the actor’s effective collaboration with production teams, giving you the tools to stand out both in and out of the audition room.
Hosted by: Casting director, Dev. Producer, and Founder of SAA Mike Migliara
Q&A Session: The workshop opens with an intimate Q&A featuring both Jayson Therrien and Mike Migliara.
Rehearsal: A 15-minute warm-up and rehearsal period to prepare for your audition. SAA will distribute the scenes 7 to 5 days before the class.
Self-Tape Session: Students will professionally self-tape at SAA’s Calgary studio, with Jayson Therrien leading the session, just like a real in-studio casting session. Discussions on mastering self-tapes at home included.
Audition Coaching with Jayson: Students will work one-on-one with Jayson through several takes, applying his redirects and identifying key areas for improvement. Jayson breaks down fast, effective acting techniques customized to bring out your unique strengths.
Professional Footage: Each student receives a professionally shot audition to update or enhance their showcase reels.

This workshop is considered advanced and is ideal for intermediate actors (SAA Level 2+ or equivalent).
