Making a Commercial With Your Kids!

Ages: 9 to 12 years old

This course has 3 modules.

Each module costs 325$, paid separately (plus HST).

The first 2 modules contain 4 classes each, 2 hours per class. The 3rd module contains 2 classes: Script Rehearsal, and the Film Shoot!

With guidance from our instructors, students will produce a promo video/commercial for a local small business or PSA (Public Service Announcement)! The commercial will appear on our social media platforms!

This learning and hand-on experience includes:

• audition technique for commercials

• work progressively to design a shooting script & storyboard

• Discover and finalize locations

• Discuss and itemize the perfect wardrobe, hair, and makeup

• Discuss and strategize set design: budget for props & set pieces

Module One: Let’s write the script! (4 classes)

Students will make a list of several products/services! Products/Services need to serve Eco-Wellness sector/market and/or Holistic Health, or something similar! If SAA cannot find a real business, the instructor will lead the class with ideas for a PSA Commercial! (public service announcement)

Module Two: Let’s workshop the script! (4 classes)

Here’s where the acting comes in! Students will learn screen acting! Last class of part two, students will be audition and get cast for the available roles in our commercial!

Module Three: Lights… Camera… Action!! (2 classes)

Students will return to SAA for 1 dress / tech rehearsal. And finally, the best part! Students will be invited to the film shoot and act in our commercial!!
