[CALGARY] Just Auditions: With Casting Director and Founder Mike Migliara

Course title says it all: this workshop’s sole focus is audition technique. A proven-to-book technique that Migliara has developed from his 24 years experience as a Canadian Casting Director. During his Casting Director career, Mike Migliara has worked with award-winning Directors and Producers for over 20 years including George Clooney, Denis Villeneuve, and Jim Donovan. In addition, he is currently an active development producer for Knightshoot Media and is successfully pitching a tv series and a feature film to some of Canada’s biggest production houses this country has seen!

Structure:

• Students will receive SAA’s Audition Checklist: a comprehensive guide to make sure you’re competing on full throttle!

• Students will watch and discuss auditions from professionals that book all year round

• Have the opportunity to send their most recent audition for evaluation and audition management

Born and raised in Montréal, QC, Mike began his career soon after receiving his Baccalaureate in Fine Arts from Concordia University.

Widely respected by many Canadian actors, talent agents and directors, Mike’s teaching techniques are unique as they draw upon his academic background in theatre and film while also incorporating his inside knowledge of the film industry and casting process. His in-depth knowledge of the casting process gives actors a comprehensive understanding of the skills needed to get the cast. Mike has coached household Canadian Name Talent such as Tim Rozon, Michael Mando, Cindy Sampson, to name a few.
